This weeks talented feature artist is Alex K.
For a man who has only officially released a debut self-titled album in 2016 and the feisty “Brexit single” in 2017, he has performed consistently at a variety of venues across Adelaide, capturing audiences with his thought provoking and politically tinged folk rock compositions.
Prolific beyond his two releases, Alex K and his band, The Sputnik Sweethearts (a heavier, electric rock set up), have been seen playing their own, Alex K-penned, rock and groove rock around the late night venues of Adelaide - further showcasing his songwriting ability across genre, style and instrumentation. His songs have been described as “catchy”, “intelligent” and “thoughtful”.
With further releases planned, the Radio Adelaide dubbed “Bad Boy Of Folk” is a prolific writer with a sophisticated body of work reminiscent of his influences Rodriguez, Neil Young, Nick Drake and Van Morrison.
