Hello Gov Lovers,
It’s been an exciting couple of weeks here at The Gov as we not only have seen some amazing artists on our stages, but have also announced a heap of new shows from local and touring artists. If you haven’t caught up on all the latest additions, pop over to our Gig Guide and have a look. But, if you’re looking for something this week, don’t go anywhere, we’ve got it all wrapped up for you below.
Tonight, it’s a pop/punk/thrash extravaganza as Weekend Rage team up with Muckspout, Lickity Split and Witch Hunt to turn up the pace and the noise in the venue. There’s still some tickets left, so grab them while you can.
Out the front, the Friday Free for All presents an eclectic open mic on the Gallery stage from 8pm, and this week Andy Easthope is bringing his unique covers and original music to Corner Acoustics from 9pm.
Saturday brings an afternoon of music to the Gallery Stage from the SA Live Music Club. Music starts at 1pm.
That night in the Venue, don’t miss Dance Dance Dance with Lucky Seven as they present ‘The Lucky Comets’, the music of Bill Haley, with support from The Jetty Boys and DJ Orange Blossom. And on the Gallery Stage, Easy Tiger deliver a night of contemporary chill from 9pm.
Hit makers from the 90s, The Badloves, play the Venue on Sunday 18 April, celebrating the re-release of their seminal album ‘Get On Board’. There’s so many amazing songs from that release we’re sure you’ll all be singing along! Last tickets are on sale now.
And, if you love country rock, check out Whiplash at the 428 Sunday Session, with the band on the Gallery stage from 4-8. Or if funk and jazz are more your pace, the Ben Todd Band Sunday Session is on the Gallery stage from 7pm.
And we’ve got you covered mid-week.
The Adelaide Ukulele Appreciation Society meets here on Wednesday night at 7pm for a fun lesson, performance, workshops and jams. It’s friendly and fun. Come along.
On Thursday, the Gumbo Room Blues Jam presents House Reckers with a night of swampy blues kicking off on the Gallery stage from 8pm and followed by jams on the Gibson stage from 9pm.
Whether your listening or playing, there’s something for everyone. See you here soon.
