Hoodoo Gurus:

Like wow. For two and a half decades the Hoodoo Gurus have consistently been one of the most inventive, lyrically smart and goddamn exciting rock’n’roll bands Australia has ever produced. Oh yeah, and they’ve done it with style, panache and a wicked sense of humour. Along the way they’ve influenced an entire generation of bands which kinda explains why the likes of You Am I, The Living End, Dallas Crane, Grinspoon and many others queued up a few years back to pay tribute to the band’s 1984 debut album, Stoneage Romeos.

From the get go the Hoodoo Gurus created a distinctive distillation of music that was in their respective record collections, creating a fascinating synthesis of The Cramps, T. Rex, Little Richard, The Ramones, Suicide, Gene Vincent, The Flamin’ Goovies, Nancy Sinatra, Gary Glitter, Bobby Gentry, The Sonics and a thousand others. They spelt it out in “(Let’s All) Turn On”, the opening track from Stoneage Romeos.

The Drones

The Drones (Vic)

Havilah Australian Tour

“The Drones were their usual cathartic, thunder and lightning best. The new songs from their album out next month sounded strong, while they still manage to find new light within their older songs. ‘They're a pretty intense little band,’ remarked a punter standing next to me. That was the understatement of the day so far.”
– Richard Kingsmill, Triple J

After a blistering performance at Splendour In The Grass, The Drones jumped a jet plane relocating to the USA for two months. A tour with the likes of Built To Spill and The Meat Puppets and a special trip east side to hit the stage at the infamous All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in New York … what a perfect way to warm up for the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Havilah, due in store September 20th 2008.

The Vines

Triple J, Channel [V], Max, FasterLouder, and dB Magazine present:

The Vines (NSW)

National ‘Melodia’ Tour

With special guests

Following on from their incredible recent performances at this year’s Fuji Rock and Splendour In The Grass festivals, The Vines are pleased to announce that they will be embarking upon their first full length national album tour in over four years this coming October and November in support of their brand new long-player, Melodia.

After their many well documented trials and tribulations, no one really had the right to expect to find The Vines in such rude health in 2008, but with the release of Melodia, the band have come full circle, recording their best album since Highly Evolved and playing the finest live shows of their career. Anyone who has witnessed the band's incendiary sets at Splendour, Homebake or Big Day Out over the past two years will attest to the fact that as a live force they are now nigh on unstoppable.

Lucky Seven

Lucky Seven (SA) – Xmas Show

It was March 2004, when seven of the coolest cats in the music business banded together to form the ‘hippest’ swing band Adelaide has ever seen!

They call themselves Lucky Seven.

These seven misfits have years of musical experience, combining cool jazz licks with a raw, hard, rockabilly style rhythm, which becomes the backbone of the Lucky Seven trademark sound.
